SAP Functional Consultants Vs SAP Technical Consultants..
The world of SAP implementation basically has consultants who are either functional consultants or technical consultants. Many readers have requested a post on the difference between a technical SAP consultant Vs a functional SAP consultant. In the overall SAP implementation project, both the functional as well as the technical consultants have different roles to play. Let me explain the roles of both the functional and technical SAP consultants.
SAP Functional Consultants - Functional consultants are responsible for designing the SAP implementation solution based on the unique requirements of your company. In other words the functional consultants are business process experts and are non-technical. Functional consultants normally use their process knowledge to calculate the impact of the SAP implementation on the company's processes. Functional consultants are thus concerned with SAP functions and processes that will generate the data and output for business.
SAP Technical Consultants - Technical consultants are experts in information technology. Technical consultants normally assist in configuration of the SAP R3 installation. In many SAP implementations, technical consultants help in designing interfaces and customizations in R3. Finally, the SAP R3 technical consultants would be responsible for migration of data from the legacy system to the new SAP ERP implementation.

People and Their Pets..
Forget about you housecat, your doggie, your goldfish or your rabbit. It's time we realize that Africans have way cooler pets than we do...

Man's sick note a little suspicious
A 27-year-old man was fined R1 000 on Monday after he duped his employers into believing that a gynaecologist had booked him off sick for seven days. The Vereeniging magistrate's court heard that Charles Sibindana stole a medical certificate from the Medi-Clinic centre in the city during his pregnant girlfriend's medical check-up.He then faked details and submitted the letter after being absent from work for seven days. His vigilant employers got suspicious because he was a man, not a pregnant woman, and investigated the matter.Passing sentence, magistrate Bruno van Eeden jokingly warned Sibindana "not to walk around faking sick letters from gynaecologists" as if he was pregnant. He ordered that Sibindana pay half the money, but suspended the other half for five years provided he did not commit another crime. - Sapa

Master Data Maintenance in SAP R3...
When using SAP R3, it is important to maintain master data such as customer accounts, vendor accounts accurately. SAP MM and SAP SD contain data relating to vendors and customers respectively. As a best practice in master data maintenance, customer and vendor master records should be maintained centrally. This ensures that all master records are correct. In SAP R3, sometimes, the materials management MM module and the sales and distribution SD module create their own segments of master records and SAP FI creates its own master records.
In the above mentioned case, there is a risk that duplicate master records may be created. How does one find out there incomplete or duplicate master records in SAP R3. There are two seperate reports available in SAP R3 to view duplicate records.
1. Report RFDKAG00 can be used for Customer Master Data Comparison.
2. Report RFKKAG00 can be used for Vendor Master Data Comparison.
Using these reports one can find duplicate master records in SAP R3. Such duplication can also be prevented by using the matchcode before creating an account or by switching on automatic duplication check in SAP R3.
